Ikigai is a concept that was created from a town in Japan called Okinawa, which believe it or not, has the longest life expectancy in the world. So people in Okinawa live longer, and why is that? They claim it’s because they live with this concept of ikigai. Ikigai is a reason to wake up in the morning and get out of bed. Ikigai is something that you really want to do and why you look forward to another day in your life. Ikigai’s broader than passion and purpose. Ikigai can be many things and you can have many sources of Ikigai at the same time. You may have seen an image that shows Ikigai as the center of your vocation of what the world needs what you can offer the world I personally don’t think this is the best description of Ikigai. I think the concept of Ikigai is you living thinking what is something that excites me that energizes me that brings passion to the way I’m living Because then you find bliss, you find joy, you feel like you’re bringing meaning to your life. And Ikigai is something that matters to YOU. There’s no point in trying to live someone else’s life. Someone else’s measure of success. It has to make sense to you.
