Benis Reffkin is forging her own path for a life of fulfillment and impact as a certified Executive Coach focused on helping clients in Life & Leadership, working primarily with entrepreneurs and their growth ambitions. To guide clients she draws from her work experiences in executive recruiting, private wealth management and leadership consulting, as well as her MBA from Columbia Business School and BA in Psychology from NYU. She is also a hands on mother-of-three young children and supports her husband as an advisor and coach as he founded the real estate tech company Compass, which has grown in 7 years to a $6.4 billion valuation, 15,000 agents, and 2500 employees.

As a coach, I combine my business acumen and executive coach training to meet clients where they are with their professional goals and together we lay out a customized path to achieve them. I apply Columbia University’s Coaching Program’s research-based best practices, which are informed by strategic forms of learning, whole-brain thinking, organizational effectiveness and global leadership. The experience is completely client-led, and I maintain their agenda throughout. Finally, I alert clients to their current mindset and emphasize the importance of identifying and applying the best mindset for the challenges they encounter.

Professional Background

I began developing my business experience upon graduating NYU when I spent several years working in Executive Search. As an Executive Recruiter for Fortune 500 Clients I found, assessed, and placed senior executives in new and challenging roles that furthered their careers. Through conversations with candidates I gained a unique perspective on the challenges they faced and how they overcame them to realize their ambitions. After business school, I joined Goldman Sachs where I received training and experience in navigating a large corporate environment. I also served in a consulting capacity at the Institute for Personal Leadership, which pulls together insights from history’s most effective leaders with the most recent findings in neuroscience. Finally, I have served as an advisor and sounding board for my husband as he launched his start-up, Compass.
